For the past 3 years I’ve been searching for the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe. My years of research led me to a super cute German blogger,Frolleinklein, and the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe. And I’m here to share this fantastic recipe with you all.
My fiancé is from Germany, so I’ve been learning German very very slowly. Baking is a really good way for me to learn the language, so I did my best to translate this recipe on my own, but to be honest, Google Translate ended up being my best bet. I made the recipe once and was IN LOVE with the cookie! Chocolate chip cookies seem pretty basic, but I have never made cookies that came out with this kind of flavor, appearance, and texture!
Here is Frolleinklein’schocolate chip cookie recipe. For us Americans, I translated the recipe into English and converted the measurements from grams to cups.
1 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/3 cup flour
2 1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup + 2 tbsp white sugar
1 1/4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 cups good chocolate, roughly chopped
Melt the butter on the stove and set it aside to let it cool. While the butter cools, chop up your chocolate.
In a medium sized bowl mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together.
In a large bowl, combine the cooled butter with the brown sugar, white sugar, vanilla extract, and eggs. Mix everything together so the blend is homogenous.
Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and blend everything together using a spatula. Add in the chopped chocolate and mix.
Lay a sheet of parchment paper onto a cookie sheet. Using your hands, form the cookie dough into balls.
Preheat the oven to 355°F. Place the cookie sheet into the refrigerator to chill while the oven preheats. When the oven is ready, bake the cookies for 16 -18 minutes. The cookies shouldn’t be too browned. Let cool and enjoy!
